 Every
year there is going to be thunder storms, tropical storms and or snow storms that come about. The
forces of nature are out of your control. Therefore, you learn to live with them and take the
necessary precautions to stay out of harms way physically.
"And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto
the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.40 And he said unto
them, Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?"
[Mark 4:39-40] Just like the environmental storms, you are
going to encounter emotional storms as well. As the saying goes "You are in a storm, just left
one or you are headed towards one."
 In the
Bible, Jesus taught us a valuable lesson about how to deal with emotional storms. The message in
the scripture has a spiritual meaning that has to do with inner storms or emotional storms that we
encounter in life. It is the negative thoughts and beliefs in your mind that is causing the storm
of emotional turbulence, fear and worry-causing stress.  When you
are stressed because of fear and worry you are listening to your Ego forecast and play out in your
imagination a negative outcome to the situation that you are going through or dealing with.
Therefore, you are listening to and caught up in the drama causing these negative emotional storms
to manifest as stress, worry, and fear in your physical body which can lead to illness and
                “dis-ease.”  Fear
feeds the emotional storms and gives them power over you. However faith gives you power and
authority over the emotional storms and renders them powerless. When we trust God with all our
heart and soul, this triggers a natural sedative that keeps us calm through the emotional storms
when they come. Do you listen to the conversations in your mind which
perpetuates fear causing stress or do you trust God and rebuke the negative voice in your head
by rebuking the enemy and telling it, “Peace be Still?” When
worry or fear creeps back into your mind trying to disrupt your life, remember the teachings of
Jesus, tell your ego, “Peace be still,” and the winds will obey you as they obeyed Jesus. You have
the power and authority through faith over negativity so use it. It is a gift from God to protect
you when the emotional storms try to move in and disrupt your life.
